I honestly cannot wait to dive into The Sakura Obsession by Naoko Abe all about the history of the cherry blossom! 🌸 And Murder by the Book by Claire Harmon looks DELICIOUSLY fun.🔎 . . This has to be my FAVORITE box from @bookofthemonth! The second I saw this month’s selection, I immediately added Daisy Jones and the Six and Queenie to my box. I’ve been practically pining over these and I’m SO EXCITED that they’re mine! . . But I would also like to note that I’m standing outside. With my “I really needed some sort of color to break up all the grayness of winter” electric blue (Teal the Cows Come Home by @opi!) toes. In the COMFIEST pants from @aeropostale (yes, REALLY). IN THE SUNLIGHT ☀️ AND MY EXTREMITIES AREN’T FREEZING OFF! I don’t care if it’s short lived, THIS IS IMPORTANT. . . So, anyway. What did YOU get in your @bookofthemonth this month? IT HAPPENED! IT’S FINALLY OUT! Field Notes on Love by the lovely @jenniferesmith is finally available! . . . I fell absolutely head over heels for this book (as I usually seem to do with her books!). When Hugo, one of the Surrey Sextuplets, finds himself single just weeks before his train ride across America, he does something crazy. Since everything is in his ex-girlfriend’s name, he looks for another girl with her name so he can still take the trip. That’s when Mae, a filmmaker whose work is lacking something personal, decides it’s time to go out and live and answers the ad. . . The two strangers find themselves on a train ride that not only takes them to new places, but helps them discover what they truly want out of not only life, but for themselves. And the idea that love can happen when you least expect it? All the better! You NEED this book if you want to smile and cry and feel your heart swell. It was seriously SO GOOD.🚂
It’s been a rough week for your girl @missmeganmann over here. I think the winter is finally getting to me and exacerbating all of my stress. It’s just so annoying now, you know? So, last night I spent some quiet time with Night Music by @jennmariethorne that @penguinteen sent my way while drinking tea from my new mug that I’m so grateful to @pageonebooks for! Sometimes you just need to take a step back and readjust, you know? What do you guys like to do to unwind? . . . As usual, I’m drinking @fortnums apple green tea because it’s delicious.) 🍵
When it was announced last year that @dearevanhansen was coming to Chicago, my friend and I FLIPPED. Tickets were purchased on insane presale and we couldn’t stop talking about it. . . And friends, it was more than worth all of the counting down and excitement. This insanely topical musical moved the theater to tears, yet filled it with laughter and hope. If you have a chance to see this, no matter the city, DO. It’s worth every penny and every tear. . . Have YOU seen Dear Evan Hansen? What did you think?
What an absolutely FANTASTIC book club night with @pageonebooks discussing The Perfect Nanny by @leilaslimanette! Even the wonderful @rooreads was there and we’re now basically book besties. How was your Monday night?! 🧀🍷📚
